Carl Larsen joined forces with RFPR in March 2008 to lead the publicity department and to provide a diverse client roster with effective and novel PR campaigns designed specifically to help clients achieve their corporate goals and solidify their niche. With more than eight years of agency experience in Los Angeles, Larsen is known as a “Jack of all trades” when it comes to PR expertise and has worked with a variety of industries ranging from luxury lifestyle brands to fashion and architecture to entertainment.

A native of Hawaii, Larsen started his career in public relations at one of Honolulu’s “Big-5” companies, Alexander & Baldwin. Among his duties as an intern in the government and community relations department, he created and distributed the “News Watch” newsletter. Larsen also worked night shifts as a production assistant in the newsroom of Honolulu’s CBS affiliate, KGMB-TV.

After receiving his B.A. in Communications at the University of California, Santa Barbara on a full athletic scholarship, Larsen joined the corporate entertainment and lifestyle division of Much & House Public Relations in 2000, where he handled lifestyle and wellness clients, such as Today show fitness expert Kathy Kaehler; Kundalini Yoga guru Gurmukh; Power Yoga creator and instructorBryan Kest; and the mio™ heart rate monitor, among others. Larsen also worked on publicity campaigns for The Disney Channel for such programs as “Lizzie McGuire,” “Totally Hoops” and “The Ultimate Christmas Present.”

Larsen then joined JS2 Communications in 2003 to provide demonstrated experience and versatility in the areas of corporate branding and creative business strategies. As Account Supervisor and the agency’s only designated Media Specialist, Larsen excels in the critical area of media relations and has managed a full spectrum of top-tier clients, including The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, TLC Network, Kraiko Diamonds, Jamba Juice, SunMilk, Shutters on the Beach, Hotel Casa Del Mar, Leblon cachaça and Segway, among others. He was also instrumental in establishing the inaugural launch of the CA Boom Contemporary Design Show in Santa Monica as well as developing the award-nominated PR campaign for the 25th anniversary of the Outfest 2007 film festival.

Currently, Larsen is focusing his PR prowess on clients from the fashion and design industries including: contemporary women’s wear line, dolan; premier, luxe home furnishings retailer, MOGUL; the eclectic yet intimate CA Boom V - The West Coast Design Show; and the Outfest 2008 film festival.
